3 Places To Find Quality Vintage Posters Online

Vintage Posters For Retro Inspiration 'Angels From Hell' Movie Poster Aside from just "retro" gaming, I have heavy interests in "retro" art (vintage) and works like vintage movie and travel posters. Most video games were heavily inspired by other art mediums, so I see it all as related. All links and images here are for educational and research purposes only.  This post focuses on 3 categories: Vintage Movies, Video Game Posters & Vintage Travel Posters.  Harry Ransom Center | University of Texas -  Movie Poster Collection (200+ [LINK] This movie poster collection (with high res downloads) at the above link is a great place to start when looking for vintage poster inspiration. Hopefully they are all online one day!  'Battle Beneath The Earth' Movie Poster | Retro Game Poste

AOKZOE A1: Another Steam Deck Alternative

AOKZOE Info/Specs AOKZOE A1 Handheld PC AOKZOE appears to be a new company with close ties to One Netbook and recently announced the AOKZOE A1 handheld out of nowhere. I have to say the design looks very thoughtful, ergonomic and it is a powerful handheld. The first thing that caught my eye last week with this device is the disc style d-pad that's reminiscent of the SEGA Saturn controller (or Game Gear), the well placed buttons/thumb-sticks, and screen position. If the price is right,  this could end up being a great handheld!  Official Website: Video Link: AOKZOE A1 Anticipated Specs & Info:  Pre-order Date; July Ships: September  Form Factor: Landscape OS: Windows 11 / SteamOS SoC: AMD Ryzen 7 6800U CPU: AMD Zen 3+ CPU Cores: 8 CPU Threads: 16 Clock Speed: 2.7 GHz - 4.7 GHz Architecture: x86-64 GPU: AMD Radeon 680M D-pad: Disc  Face Buttons: 4 Shoulders: 4 Analog (Stacked) Charge Port: USB-C  GPU Clock Speed: 2.2 GHz RA

RG351V: AmberELEC 20220627 Sanshiro Tower Available

The latest update to AmberELEC is out and highly recommended.  Decided to take a break from newer devices this week and check out the latest update to AmberELEC (Previously known as 351Elec) on the RG351V with a fresh install of the latest AmberELEC (20220627 Sanshiro Tower).  This version of AmberELEC is also available for the RG351P/M, RG351MP, & RG552.  Download the latest AmberELEC files from the following link or update via WiFi on the device: I also decided to use PortMaster (developed by the ArkOS developer) instead of AnberPorts which I had used previously.  Some games, you'll get considerably better performance out of the Linux port than you will from emulating a console ROM. The latest update to AmberELEC includes a lot of changes. The biggest I've noticed is that loading times are noticeably faster on the 351V from what I've checked out so far.  Improvements Inc

AYANEO Flip Photos So Far (Mystery)

We don't know much about the AYANEO Flip other than it's a clamshell device with recessed thumb-sticks, stacked triggers, should be running an AMD 6800U and it should be out late this year.  They've leaked out or dropped two artsy cropped photos (from a render) so far this week and that's about it... Hopefully we can see some full images soon... AYANEO Flip

Anbernic RG503 Review [Stock OS]

Anbernic RG503 Review [Stock OS] *Note: These are Initial Out of the Box Findings! I plan to do a more thorough review when the custom OS/Firmware Options for this device are more ready.  In short,  what you are paying for with the RG503 is a big screen and a nice D-pad!  Anbernic RG503 Review Anbernic RG503 Specs Device: Anbernic RG503  Released: April 2022 Average Price: $135-$150 USD Stock OS: Custom Batocera Linux  Form Factor: Landscape SoC: RK3566 CPU: Cortex A55 4X CPU Cores/Threads: 4/4 CPU Clock Speed: 1.8GHz Architecture: ARM GPU: Mali-G52 2EE GPU Clock Speed: 850 MHz RAM: 1GB LPDDR4 Screen: PlayStation Vita 1000/1001 Screen/16:9/ 4.95" OLED/ 960x544 (222.91 PPI) w/ Plastic Screen Lens  Battery 3500 mAH Cooling: None D-Pad: Upper Cross Analogs: Lower Dual Thumb-stick w/ R3/L3 Function Face Buttons: 4 Shoulder Buttons: Horizontol non-Stacked L1/L2/R1/R2 Other Buttons: Power/Reset/Volume Up & Down/Function  Charge Port: USB-C x2 (Top) Storage: Dual External microSD  Co

Anbernic RG353P Release Date: June 18, 2022

Anbernic RG353P (Release [Or Pre-Order]: June 18) Price: $129.99 + ($139.99 after June 18) Pre-Sale Link (Live on June 18): If all goes as planned, the RG353P which closely resembles the PocketGo S30 shell should be available for purchase on June 18.  The likely first dropping spot is and the Official Anbernic Store on AliExpress.  I'll likely sit this device out a little while as I'm hoping Anbernic will eventually drop the 353V (Vertical). There's no official word about that news so that is just a Speculative guess from me that they are likely to drop a new vertical soon.  From a power standpoint, the 353P should be a little better than the RG503 due to community developers having more time with it prior to release and having 2GB RAM instead of the 1GB on the 503. If optimized, the 353P should be able to handle up to PSP decently but it will not outperform the $99 Retroid Pocket 2 Plus. The 353P unlike the 503

Evercade EXP Interests Me (Winter 2022)

I passed on the original Evercade handheld and wasn't too interested in the Evercade Vs., but the Evercade EXP has certainly made it onto my radar. Priced at $149.99, it's still in the budget realm and will probably be worth the risks. I didn't like it enough to pre-order the limited edition one but it is on my radar of potential buys this winter. The regular edition will be available for pre-order in September. Hopefully we hear a lot more about this device over the next few months... As Mainstream companies continue moving towards digital only games,  devices like the Evercade EXP could play a role (a legally licensed role) in the preservation of Classic video games.  Just based on what we've seen, it's obvious a LOT more attention to detail and quality has gone into the design of the EXP. This handheld was designed with Horizontal Mode & Tate Mode in mind which is really necessary for a full retro experience. Like the original handheld, this one uses cartridg

Anbernic RG503: Working On The Review

Review Posted:  I should be posting my review and notes on the Anbernic RG503 this upcoming weekend in a couple days. So far,  I honestly like it more than I thought I would and my score is leaning towards somewhere between a 7/10 and 8/10... For the price of around $135, I'm not overjoyed but I'm not disappointed with the purchase.  At the moment. I'd recommend it for the following:  ARCADE/Lynx/Atari 2600/PC Engine/NES/SNES/GBA/Virtual Boy/SMS/GG/32X/Mega Drive/Sega CD/PS1/Watching Videos I do NOT think it's a good option for the following:  DS/N64/PSP/Saturn The things I do like about it so far is the screen (despite below average upscaling options), Connectivity Options, Watching Videos on it and the size.

Miyoo P60: New Photos

More and more photos of the interesting Miyoo P60 have been surfacing this week. My only hesitation with the hansheld is the 5:3 aspect screen but at the same time,  that adds to the uniqueness..   Photos from the Retro Handhelds Discord Server:
